COASTGUARD RADIO NEWS.

                    NOVEMBER 2011.      

Welcome to this months newsletter.

 A reasonably quiet month on the lake
with only 84 calls logged.

 A busy month however for the operators
off site.

 November 06 saw a group of us head off
to view the HUB at Wakatane. We were made welcome by the staff on duty and
those that came in especially to give us a tour of the Headquarters and their
brand new rescue boat that had been launched the previous week.

 Our thanks to Phillip King for
arranging the visit and providing the transport.

 November 19 saw the annual Marine SAREX
held at Kinloch Marina and 3 operators spent the day running their shifts from
the Coastguard caravan that had been brought down from Auckland for the event.

We also participated in the land based
module which was part of the exercise.

 As this will be the last newsletter of
the year, I wish to take this opportunity to thank the operators for their
continued support to both me and the boating public throughout the year.

 On a personal note Karen and I would
like to wish both you and your families a very Happy and Safe Christmas.
